Attorney Cooper is a graduate of Villanova University, where he was a varsity lacrosse athlete for 4 years, and Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law. While attending law school, he was a Member and Secretary Officer of the Moot Court Honor Society. Ben became a winner of the Polsky Moot Court Competition in 1988, and the following year became a member of the Temple National Trial Team, winning the Eastern Regional to compete in Nationals.
Attorney Cooper has been a public defender for more than 15 years, which included time at the Federal Public Defender’s office, and the Montgomery County Public Defender’s office. Ben has also had a private practice for 15 years and during his entire career has obtained three decades of experience of handling appellate and post-conviction work, as well as trial experience in every facet from traffic cases, drug cases, DUI, firearm, and homicide. He has practiced in Philadelphia, Montgomery, Delaware, Bucks, Chester, Lehigh, Berks, Lancaster, and Northampton Counties in Pennsylvania as well as federal work in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Attorney Cooper has masterful skill in evidence, cross-examination, and closing arguments, which has helped two cases where he was the trial attorney which ultimately ended in victory at the United States Supreme Court.
